Mitsubishi Motors North America Rearview Camera Image May Not Display/FMVSS 111 Recall

MMNA is recalling 2025–2026 Outlander and 2026 Outlander PHEV vehicles because the A-IVI software may fail to display the rearview camera image when in reverse, potentially failing FMVSS 111. About 67,146 vehicles nationwide are affected. Dealers will update the A-IVI software at no charge, and owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 24, 2026. VINs involved will be searchable on NHTSA.gov starting September 9, 2026; the recall number is SR-26-002.

Due to improper software programming, the Alliance In-Vehicle Infotainment (A-IVI) system may fail to display the rearview camera image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility." |
